RBY gives you the 90s vibe, the pokemon looks weird, edgier and funnier, team rocket feels more harmful and all in all the game feels different. But the boxing system and the bag limitations are annoying as fuck.
Never played lgpe. But it has few things that annoy me, Go mechanics, New Players characters. Other than that it has the real trio (with green/blue), it looks phenomenal (this is how I imagined hd pokemon), it has rideable pokemon, it has even alola variants, nice postgame with the master trainers, overworld pokemon, orchestral (eventhough it's midi) kanto sounds great from the tidbits I heard. I think there is a mewtwo story, mew is legally catchable although now impossible to get a non injected one, if you don't pay scalper prices.
Both have their strength and weaknesses, if lpge didn't had go mechanics and you play as red with green and blue I guess it would have been the definitive one.
