What is your opinion on Pokedex oriented Pokémon? I don't know what else to call these Pokémon, but basically, they may already not be gifted with the best of base stats, but even with good will from a trainer who'd want one of these Pokémon on their team, they're unecessarily difficult to catch or are, for one reason or another, stuck way too late into the game. You could make a case that a lot of Ice Types fall into this trope, since a lot of Ice themed areas are usually for the Late Game, but at least they carry the novelty of their type which happens to rarely be available otherwise
Do you think the concept of these Pokémon is fine, or should the franchise move away from this kind of Pokémon? If so, should it be by ensuring the Pokémon itself is a worthwhile encounter & potentially valuable team member, or by more fine tuning to avoid wild Pokémon that first appear in an area and are already obsolete to most trainers? Is it just part of the Pokémon DNA and wide appeal to have these Pokémon, so they should stick to being the way they are?
