Movie was fine, I quite liked it. It was literally marketed as a "retelling/reimagination of the first 2 episodes" and then some. At the end of the day, it isn't canon, just a different interpretation.

I don't get why people shit on this movie that much, it's just a nostalgia trip reaffirming what pokémon is to a lot of people. The only thing I didn't like was the cross rival guy who was kind of a bitch.
