They promised us the 3d Pokemon models would be reused in future games as a means to save time and resources, and instead allocate those resources to improving existing models and other aspects of the games. If so then why do the models look like shit? Why do we still get the lifeless, washed out models since 2013?

Shin Megami Tensei reuses a few models from Persona and other games (pic related) but theirs are high quality as fuck. What is the difference? It can't be Pokemon's yearly release issue because reusing models is literally THE fucking solution to getting around that issue.
