Pic related, my pulls from 13 packs showing the rarest card in each pack.
Here you can see a variety of illustrations depending on the rarity of the card. Yes, I will concede that V and Vmax cards do not show any background of secondary character involvement -- and rather have a solo pokemon on a colourful dynamic background. Only the alternate art versions of those cards will showcase them in unique environments interacting with others and things. But even still, the vast majority of cards still have unique arts.
Hell, the bottom left card, Eldegoss, is a part of a multi-card story. It starts with a smeargle card running across this area dragging its tail and painting a trail. Followed by mouth running through and you can seen the paint from smeargle. Then the mawile card has her running through and you can see the paint and meowth's footprints, and now I just noticed Eldegoss is in the same spot floating above everything. And not all of these cards are from the same expansion either, you get this story over multiple sets.
Anyways, all this to say you're either disingenuous by willfully omitting the cool arts of regular cards and alternate arts, or you are just ignorant.
