By buying it you are helping to give a totally wrong input on what the Pokémon franchise is to become!

Which through this game, is straying excessively from its origins that we all love!

This game deserves a boycott campaign worse than Sword and Shield!

I don't love the current franchise tho. The last mainline game I played was Sun, and the last game I played beyond the E4 was Y
I want something new, and I don't want to have childish gimmicks or poorly designed new pokemon to be the only thing bringing me back every year.
I've been playing since gen1 and I'm tired of seeing the same old shit. At least this has something new to try.

I am not buying it because I prefer the JRPG aspects of Pokemon, which have been in a decline since about 2013 or so, give or take. If somebody wants open world bullshit go right ahead, I don't want any part of this. Pokemon really just isn't for me at this point, I can let it go and come back when it's what I want again. I did it for Sonic, I did it for Zelda, I've got no problems doing it again.

Every spin off Gamefreak has ever tried has died. I doubt we'll get more than one new one every five or so years IF it's popular. It being released immediately after Christmas though makes me think it's doomed to fail as it's a hard sell for parents.

Reasons why I think gen 9 will be good:
>It's a game made post-SWSH meaning any complatins for it can be addressed if they choose to
>It's the second gen on new hardware, which are alwas better than the debut games which are plagued with technical issues
>James Turner probably won't be the art director since it's not set in the UK
>It will be Ohmori's Black and White moment since it took Masuda a few gens under his belt to reach his full power (gen 5)
>It is developed in game freak's relocated headquarters closer to Nintendo, might mean something
>They can copy paste the pokemon of other Switch titles over meaning only 60 or so would be missing
>They can expand upon the co-op gameplay introduced in SWSH
