>hgsskeeps what made the original solid while fixing most of its flaws, and adds stuff like following mons, being able to catch the kanto legendaries, adds a bit more to the relatively barren story, safari zone, etc which they really didn't have to do but i'm glad they did, it shows effort.
>orasehh i mean while not perfect, and still worse than emerald, i'd say it's kind of a sidegrade. physical/special split, day/night cycles, and being able to use gen 4-6 pokemon is pretty nice, can't deny that. plus, the character redesigns are mostly solid, and the added motives for the evil teams as well as the evil teams' bases not looking generic helps too.
>frlgwhile having gen 2/3 mechanics is certainly good to have for the adventure side of things, the faithfulness to muh 151 is pretty limiting, plus the tms are way worse, with most good ones locked behind the game corner, and you get shit like body slam via move tutor too late for it to even be that useful. it doesn't help that the glitches are gone either making it feel watered down. being able to catch mons like wooper and skarmory after beating the game might've been cool at the time but nowadays doesn't really make up for it imo.
>bdsplikewise, way too faithful for its own good and what it does change is pretty dumb (heard something about merging happiness and affection? and well ya know the exp inbalancing). admittedly i don't know how much else it changes besides endgame teams being decent at least but still, not being forced to use an hm slave and the saving being faster doesn't really make up for them remaking the worse version anyway.
>lgpemaking a game with mobile mechanics is dumb. dumb for mainlinefags because they can play other games, dumb for gofags because they can play go, what audience is this even for? overworld encounters are nice i guess. i think there's some postgame battles but you know, like with bdsp that's not really worth paying 60 dollars for.
