>>49158630The original battle tower in gen 3 used dialogue composed using words picked from the game's Easy Chat system, presumably to save internal space. And because the people writing the dialogue were basically picking words out of a hat to make sentences from, and some of the words in the easy chat system were very specific or unusual, they ended up writing some really weird shit.
They stopped using the Easy Chat to compose dialogue in gen 4, but I guess they thought it was funny so they kept writing absurd and whacky dialogue because they had free reign to do so.
