Yeah, it isn’t no ghost type, that’s not the argument I was making when I first stated about how I assumed it might be Ghost type. Some strange ‘energy’ is said to have brought a Pokeball to life, which is my point that it is possibly just a Pokeball brought to life. It can be a Tsukumogami and be a Mimic; it doesn’t have to be inspired by just one thing.
One last thing to consider. What’s more likely for a Japanese company to take inspiration from, their own myths and legends from centuries past, or a western RPG monster that debuted seven years prior, and wasn’t very likely to be the sole inspiration for every single Pokémon…
