Its name is also a reference to its Pokedex entry that states it was once the chaotic ruler of the planet in prehistoric times before Arceus came in and sealed it away.

The lore of it being the ruler of the ancient world is a reference to the terrestrial pre Cambrian period usually referred to as the age of insects.
