>dev cycle too shortYes and no. They cut corners to meet their deadline for sure, knowing full well they can do so with no repercussions because the games will ALWAYS sell. For every 10 people who boycott this game or that game, there's 100 more who will take their place. Furries, autists, children, spiteful GF ass kissers, Nintendo fanboys, blissfully ignorant consumers. The franchise is so big it cannot fall as long as it meets a specific "quota" for quality, which is as low as they can make it without the games being REALLY shitty. They're "passable" now.
I can tell that GF and the people who work there have some degree of passion and competence. After all, they're making one of the biggest multimedia franchises in the world. No regular schmucks can do that. They have potential that's always wasted on having to push out games as soon as they possibly can. That being said, I also feel like they hold back on purpose. They keep the games simple and dumbed down so that every audience can enjoy them. It's about how many people can just pick up the games and go rather than how much they care about their fans.
>>49167648This too. The games don't necessarily get fixed when you throw more bodies at the problem but they clearly need more people to even out the workload. And maybe the other issue is not fully understanding how to make 3D games. Gen 5 and backwards were all great and full of life. XY onwards, I could feel just how shaky all the 3D games were. They're slowly gaining experience but they're still behind, however I did hear they were hiring graphics guys to make the games look better or something and they were hiring during LGPE/SwSh's development.
