Yellow, USUM and the SwSh DLC are third version according to GameFreak, check the trailer for the SwSh DLC. Regardless, GameFreak doesn't care about your arbitrary restrictions. They only care about making the maximum number of sales. By that metric, Gen 5 sold the most poorly. That's why they pushed Kanto pandering in later gens. Is that a good thing? No. But it's clearly a reaction to the sales of Gen 5. The fans are ultimately to blame for why GameFreak didn't continue in the direction of Gen 5.
