I can’t be the only one who was disappointed back in the day to discover the post game didn’t take you to Johto but instead a handful of islands with a few Johto Pokémon sprinkled in. Were my expectations too unreasonable as a kid? Spoiled by Gold and Silver maybe.

Nah I was upset too, since they established Johto was connected but then FRLG basically undid the progress upon the revisit.

Ya they practically reconned gen 2 with frlg. Although no Johto didn't other me a huge amount since I still had crsytal, Blocking evolutions until post game was a huge slap in the face. Also no gen 2 mons till post game and they never bothered to improve the level up move pools except for like two or three mons.
