Not to mention a prequel and a main series game that only releases as one game has never been done. You may cling to your pattern but this isn't exactly a precedented situation.
This is game freak, anon. Not a normal Nintendo studio or game developer in general. Considering how fucked SwSh were and all they were making at the time was Let's Go and Town how the hell are they supposed to make PLA AND something else while Masuda, their second brain as it were, is busy ruining DP? They definitely have plans and may have started with earlier stuff but I really doubt GF have the man power to do PLA and the big debut game of Gen 9 (which will have even greater expectations) concurrently
