Gen 9 will for sure take a lot from PLA.

Gen 9 honestly has the chance to be the best Generation since Gen 4. They know now what the fans want. There's no excuse this time.

Honestly the thing that worries me the most about PLA is it's literally everything I've wanted in a Pokemon game for such a long time, I don't want it to just come and go then Gen9 is back to basic instanced based battles, I really want PLA to be well received so we can get more, I don't have faith in the January release date but I hope it can do well sales wise, also the argument that regular consumers would already be "burnt out" from the remakes

This is my biggest fear too.
It will either end up a dissapointment and literally forever ruin pokemon for me
End up as amazing, but still only be a one-off and thus will ruin pokemom forever for me
Sell really well but they never improve on it and without abilities and items dumb down the games even further, ruining pokemon for me
Or the holy grail 10% chance it is great and they expand on it and turn this into the main franchise in which case pokemon is saved.

I'm also in this boat, however if we get a good game then even if they drop it never to be seen again at least it will have existed at all and be another entry in the series that will be fun to regularly replay.
