Oras is also part of X & Y generation so 16.58m X&Y sales + 14.46m ORAS sales = 31.04 million sales in total which obliterates unova’s 24 million sales

But remakes and third version don't count. The only third version that counts is BW2 because they're sequels rather than scam rehashes and therefore Unova is actually the second best selling rather than worst selling... or at least that's whay a few peoople here are arguing.

Pokemon players were aging out of the series, the DS was at the end of its lifespan, and Gen 4 already had a ton of games out on the system (DP, Platinum, HGSS, Mystery Dungeon 2, and other misc. spin-off titles).

Because 3rd version for Kalos was never released, so in a way ORAS is like the 3rd version for it since they added X & Y mechanics into the games plus more mega evolution. Besides if Pokémon Z were ever released it would shit on Black 2 and White 2’s abysmal sales

First games of the gen came out near the end of the DS's lifetime.
Sequels came out after the 3DS was already a thing.
Completely new national dex alienated people.

The quality of the games will never affect the sales in any meaningful way as seen recently.

True. Despite being the first 3D mainline Pokemon game, and despite being the first Pokemon game on new hardware, XY only barely sold more than SM and RS, the latter of which was on a dead console.

They had low sales numbers because they came out at a time when pokemon wasn't all that popular. It was around the time the older fans were at an age where playing pokemon made you feel self conscious about touching a kiddie game, and the newer fans were too young.

Base. The fact that Kalosfags are attempting on taking Gen 3 remake R/S sales just to justify their shit game on the 3ds is pathetic really. If ORAS included Zygarde true form, maybe their is so leeway but Z was dead the moment those sales came out for Kalos being shit on a new console.

The reason I didn't buy black/white at the time is because I was tired of getting assfucked and was waiting for the Grey version... This resulted in me completely skipping Gen 5 when they announced sequels instead

Than that is your fault anon. Because once the squeal was announced, you could have purchase BW and go from there. Basically after Emerald, expected GF to do the 3rd version gimmick and tested it with Gen 4 by skipping DP. Was correct and brought PT and emulated HGSS for the only good remake.

After seeing gen 5, gave into pressure and purchase it which was worth it because it obtained a sequel which Gen 5 gameplay hints towards if you played it. Plus it was a nice change of pace

Yeah, I was too young for that. My first game is Leaf Green followed by Emerald, I didn't really process that Emerald even was a third version at the time. So I didn't expect it for the Sinnoh games, then I assumed they'd do it again for Unova and I was wrong.
I had the same thought process as you except since I'm a little younger I was one gen behind on the assrape schedule.

Not your fault, I would say the only things you missed out on was the community with rampage of weather wars when full 6 teams for doubles/singles had mixes/half of weather users such as rain/sand, sand/sun, sun/rain. Hail was rare but you would see it since Dragon types were dominating.
