White and Japanese people get to have stupid hair and eyes and look like all sorts of things but characters outside of those have to look a specific way or else.
And in fact, people(white) still feel Japanese cartoon characters don't look "Asian" enough. The blue haired red eyed characters are white, the dark skinned characters are just tanned unless they have big fat lips.
