Pokemon gets objectively better with each generation. Quality of life features are added every time, there are more pokemon and forms and more mechanics. That's why it's stupid to claim gen 5 is better than 8, or gen 4 is, or whatever.

I wonder if the SWSH haters even consider that gen 8 completely removed grinding via exp candies, one of the best improvements in the whole series. And it made Natures fixable. There are 100 little things like that SWSH and its DLC improved.

Meanwhile stuff that gets removed are generally non-essential fluff features, or features that were supplanted by something better, or a gimmick kind of post game battle that is inferior to online play anyway
