>>49207301I assume you're talking about BW rather than both games
>No explorationThe optional content during the main game is very similar to Gen 1 Kanto, although no you can't go out of order if that's what you want. It wouldn't work with how EXP scaling works, and besides games like RS and Platinum did that sort of thing first (although personally I prefer how RS managed it).
>too much handholdingArguable, I will say before Gym 1 is easily the worst part of the game, but after that there's not much handholding. Definitely roadblocks and cutscenes but that's not the same thing.
>extremely poor balance that makes the game easy in singleplayerIf you're talking about EXP scaling, then no, that makes the game more even in difficulty. That is easier than hard, but it's also harder than easy. If you mean infinite use TMs, I mean we could analyze the TM pool during the story if you want.
>while powercreeping the multiplayerWeather wars is a whole other beast, I don't really want to get into it but sure you can have that one
>bad spriteworkNah, the sprite-work itself is great. Are you possibly referring to how it is displayed? If so, that's arguable, but I also like weird early 3D era shit so I'm not the best one to argue it.
>useless bottom screen compared to Gen 4 and 6Local online at the touch of a button is pretty good though, but does rely on you having friends or being Japanese.
>and post-game facilities that are more shallow and easy than previous gamesThe Battle Subway's only real problem is True Ant. I'll go out on a limb for this one and assume you're trying to bring in B2W2 here, in which case while some of the battle facilities might be more easy in the actual combat part (I don't actually know, it's hard for me to measure difficulty), they test other skills which I think more than makes up for that. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
Want me to list the real problems?
