>>49212725Nah, yours is the real Unovafag falseflag post.
That dude's stance is sound as fuck, but you're being obnoxious and unreasonable on purpose. He's recounting his experience of the game and when pressed to elaborate, he did so as best he could without putting on his pseud hat. You just don't like that his criticisms basically boil down to
>Gen 5 is ugly and the story didn't captivate me.But Gen 5 IS pretty fucking ugly.
40% of the dex is the epitome of that early 2000s
>POINTY THINGS ARE COOL, TEENAGERS WILL LOVE IT IF ITS SHARP AND LITERALLY EDGYmentality that ruined more IPs than Pokemon. The other 50% of the dex entries that don't cater to this design philosophy just look stupid, outlandish, and/or cluttered up. The remaining 10%, which are the best of the Unova monsters, have softer and more subdued designs.
The in-battle animations were neat at the time, but they're blurry as fuck. I guess the idea behind them was that constant movement would keep the player's pulse pounding while they battled with the much faster system, but they don't look good at all. Granted, I think the models are dogshit too and would prefer crisp still images ala Gen 1-4.
The best part about Gen 5 is the human character designs; they gave us some good coom. The older-looking protagonists and the stronger emphasis on a melodramatic narrative influenced lots of fan theories and fanfiction both before and after release. The character designs are really good at drawing you into the world and getting you excited for some anime shit. The thing about that though is that when it comes to most anime shlock, whatever is in your head is probably better than what is being committed to screen.
