My first ever HoF was one of Emerald that I did a few months ago, it went like this

I don't have an SS of when I beat it, but here's basically the team I beat the e4 with in Inclement Emerald. The only difference was I had bronzong instead of Lucario. Trevenent gets grassy surge in the hack, hence all the grassy seeds. Pelipper had drizzle and Armaldo has Swift swim. I still might eventually trade out Ninetails for something when I rematch with my final final team, but idk what yet. All I know it has to have an ice move and preferably ice be stab.

Just beat Radical Reddit on cuck mode, because I was too much of a casual for gigachad mode

While scarf ditto was pretty much the MVP, everyone here had to play their part, especially Choice Specs Feline Prowess (new ability in RR that literally just doubles sp attack) Meowstic with the 500 sp. atk oneshots

Skill Link Choice Band Cinccino is not to be slept on either, easy oneshots if normal isn’t resisted and enemy has less than 115 base speed

Final boss was a massive bitch with ridiculous picks like the lv 84 assault vest yveltal with oblivion wing, mega absol play rough and cinccino tail slap ftw

This was probably among the hardest video game I’ve ever played, maybe only behind traditional ASCII roguelikes, I have no idea how this is beatable in hardcore mode, I probably lost battles over 60 times

I do love how every pokemon was equally viable and how it took literally 5 minutes to turn an egg into a party member ready for the elite four

I sort of stopped struggling after the second Giovanni battle. But it was mainly because I built up four different teams by then, and because if I failed to beat someone after three tries I looked up their team so I could plan ahead. I usually only took another try or two after that to win.
But it's a genuinely tough game that you really have to want to try and play on hxc mode just because it's so grueling that your team has to be set in stone from the start and full of the best of the best mons or strats (including cheeses). So congrats on sticking it out. And yeah, them implementing a way to quickly get party members up to level was a seriously great choice.

I still felt like every pokemon was viable. I have like 12 extra level 85 pokemon in my box, and all of them were at least useful in one boss fight. I think my favourite one was Sabrina, where I constantly got oneshot sweeped and thought I was filtered for good. Then, I realized Trick Room was the pivot of her entire strategy, nullified it, and sweeped her entire team. I love these kinds of puzzles where you have to find what mechanic out of the many abilities, moves and items is causing you to lose, and what can you do against it.

Just got this yesterday.
Honestly, playing a game to the point where levels stop mattering is a bit of a ride. I know there's a lot of post-game that I'll be playing, but once a team hits the 70s, the game is more or less over. It's now possible for me to take on level 100s.

Not that anon, but I did a surskit run in sapphire years ago. It has a surprisingly amazing movepool. I used a female I caught up to mauville, then bred it with my marshtomp starter to get a Timid one with mud shot on it for Watson. End moveset was Bubblebeam, Ice Beam, Giga Drain, Mud Shot
