LGPE made several graphical leaps, looks lovely by Pokemon standards, and the gameplay is acceptable if you view it as a spinoff rather than a full-fledged main series game.
ORAS, even though it cut corners and I'd rather they'd have focused more on adding more content than adding more pointless Megas, still seemed like a passion project. Watch this video to see what I mean:
