These are the best first gym leaders, they pose reasonable difficulty and introduce importance of type matchups better than your cookie cutter rock leaders.

Better than that Avery shit on isle of armor. I could steal a kitchen knife from their resturant to stab Avery to death. I would remove the evidence so they would not get framed. I liked how Cilan has good voice actors in English and Japanese.

I prefer what B2W2 did.
Normals types make perfect sense as a first gym and having it the Pokemon trainer school was even better.
