I want to make a shitty pokemon fangame, what are some resources that are good for that? I figure someone here must have experience, how can I do it as easily and lazily as possible

Pokemon Essentials is your friend. It doesn't run so well on potato computers, but it's worth it for how simple the development process is. GBA hacking is a miserable experience with its technical limitations and suicidal tendencies and is absolutely not worth the 60fps multiplatform.
