But every single trainer in the game has smoogen teir teams with obscene move pool and item coverage as early as the first gym. It was fun for a while, but every single battle being a tightrope walk just got monotonous after a while. Whereas Inclement Emerald has pretty much most the same qol improvements and is also challenging throughout, it doesn't go crazy with the endless challenge. So some trainers, up til around the sixth gym, aren't a grind to battle and so it stays fun.
