How come Gamefreak didn't follow up with the virtual console? They seemed to have good success with RBY and GSC, and I thought there was popular demand for gen 3. Do you think they'll release gen 3 games in the future or is it never ever? It's almost certainly never ever.
Would be cool to have rse and other games on switch in some sort of package.

RSE VC would be in direct competition with the vastly inferior ORAS games which are still available on the 3DS store.
Luckily anyone who has an IQ above room temperature can just load CFW onto a 3DS and play Gen 3 VC that way.

The problem is the fact that you don’t get to experience the Hoenn Battle Frontier in the Split era. If a workaround doesn’t solve that problem, how is it even a workaround?

RBGY only sold 1.5m copies and GSC less than that again.
Aside from Nintendo needing to release the GBA emulator to every 3DS owner, there was no market for Gen III titles, when there barely was a market for Gen I/II titles.

they won't go further than gen 2 unless bank gets shut down. i doubt they'll go back to it even when we lose bank.
