This. Dark types are supposed to be evil type. Nothing in Gothitelle design makes her evil, it's quite the opposite : "It can see the future from the movement of the stars. When it learns its Trainer's life span, it cries in sadness."

It's never said they have to be actively evil, these Pokémon being considered evil might be enough. Also, Absol is mostly white and is not a normal type, why then if we follow the color logic?

Yes, but here Dark is more a representation of evil, not gloomy and lugubrious (That is the Ghost type) in this case:
Punk = Dark
Goth = Ghost

If it came out the generation afterwards it would have been Psychic/Dark to counteract Gardevoir's Psychic/Fairy. Probably would have gotten a mega as well.
