I expect it to be disappointing, like just trading and that's it, but at the same time I'm wondering what online PvP is going to look like. Or if it might have Genshin-like multiplayer.
But that's wishful thinking.

You're usually gifted at least one other starter. Also considering the structure of the game itself I'd imagine they become available at some point, maybe in the postgame. Like, how can you do shit for the Pokedex like observe them in the wild and catch them if you only get one? I can see the Professor telling you in the postgame that he managed to get them to breed and they've proliferated around the region or something like that.

If there's no breeding, how are we supposed to get the starters we didn't choose? Do they expect everyone to find someone with the first and middle stage just to touch trade?
Maybe the starters won't be included in the pokedex, since they're technically not Sinnoh pokemon.
