Of the three things you listed, Legends only has exploration. As for why I think those things will improve the game:

I interpreted that as meaning people who know the routine and are looking for something different. This to me is the appeal of Legends, the possibility that it may be different from the main games and even more so, the fact they're exploring the past and possibly fleshing out how at least one part of the Pokemon world developed. There is also no "gimmick" like mega evolution, Z moves, or dynamax/gigantamax.

That's extremely low bar even all things considered. Not being during the holiday cycle and having a singular title and all other factors aside it's going to break 12 million easily. But I think for all of those reasons there's not a chance it goes high to the point of meeting or exceeding SWSH or anything like that. It could do better and get somewhere in the average range, but I will be furious if BDSP ends up selling more than Legends, not even that I care so much about Legends, but that a cheap rehash with loads of bugs and requiring several early patches just to be playable should never outsell a game in the same series that actually innovates.

as much as I love the new way pokemon interact in the overworld, this disgusting level of quality is simply unacceptable.

Serebii is very foolish when it comes to social media behaviour but he is often sensible otherwise, this being a good example. The game will do fine, it won't be a disaster or anything, but at the end of the day I don't see it matching the final sales of BDSP. The weird release date (could've easily just waited a couple of months but they're dumping in January) and the questionable gameplay we've seen thus far (the very grindy pokedex, you would not put that into the game unless you really needed it to pad things out) makes it seem like that not only will this not perform as well as other mainline titles, but Gamefreak never even expected it to to begin with.

What's there to like? You don't need to play it to change your opinion since the gameplay footage tells it ALL. It's RBGY but worse and with overworld encounters.
If anything, your opinion about LGPE will only get worse after playing thanks to the motion controls. The ball catching makes absolutely no fucking sense in TV mode and I ended up just playing in fucking handheld mode for the touchscreen controls

It's only really been a month since BDSP came out, and SwSh has shown to have the strongest legs of any Pokemon game. usually, 99% of a Game Freak Pokemon game's sales is within the first year. SwSh is still in the charts over two years later.
If BDSP shows to have as strong of legs as SwSh, it can and will sell over 15 million in lifetime sales.

New Pokemon Snap sold 2 million and Mystery Dungeon Switch sold maybe 1 million. Arceus won't do as badly as those, but it's entirely possible for a Pokemon release to not sell exceptionally well, especially when they're released outside the holidays (as Snap and Mystery Dungeon both were)

Has anyone else noticed that Joe is such a big loser that even with a 20+ year old site dedicated to the franchise, not a single insider talks to him? They've treated him like a leper ever since he used a rom of BW and got a takedown notice from Gamefreak

He has official sources for game announcement, I know that much. He's really coy about it, but there's some guy who deals with press briefings and he tells Joe shit early because of how big his site is. Joe can't outright say anything because he'd get cut off and after the DMCA in 2010, he's not going to risk losing his contact.

I've been responding to OP comment about Joe seemingly not dickriding this game as hard like he has been before. Every comment he's making about how the game isn't going to be like how people expect his him setting up down the line that the fans just came up with the idea that this was going to be open world and zelda like on our own. Joe, of course, is going to love the game even if it turns out to be a total letdown on the implied open world and different style of gameplay.
