This is the most likely answer. Ash’s love is Pokémon Battles. There was this official image from a magazine or something that rated characters based on “desire for romance” and Ash got a zero. (If someone has it please post it, I don’t have it and the archive is dying but I remember it being posted on a Serena thread)
