Agreed, it’s one of my favorite pokémon.
I’m biased towards water types tho despite 90% of them being shit. When they’re good, they’re great.

It is one of the best designs ever, and Magikarp > Gyarados is a genius evolution line. Red Gyarados in Johto is the cherry on top. Gyarados is a classic, I'm surprised it's not shilled by GF/TPCI.

But I've never really used a Gyarados in a playthrough before, even though I've always liked it.

Honestly, it's probably just because it's too brutal. It's way too mean and ferocious design-wise for mass marketing like the big flagship monsters. Compare its appearance to something like Gengar.
