BW2 started the trend of dumping hundreds of Pokemon into the region to make Dex completion easy (which Kalos, Alola, and Galar continued)
BW2 forcefit the plot ala Gen 3 and 4 with a villain (Ghetsis) using a legendary (Kyurem) to harm the world. The BW plot was superior.
BW2 started the blatant nostalgia pandering with the PWT. It's true that it's nostalgia pandering to all Gens and not just Kanto, but it's still nostalgia pandering.
Basically they undid most of the innovation and risks they took with BW1 in BW2, simply because the former didn't sell well.
