Is there a shittier type than Ghost? It's just chock full of pokemon that are okay at best and garbage at worst. There's so many shitmons like sableye, banette, misdreavus, oricorio, jellicent, etc, though it's not like there's many ghost types in the first place. The most popular ghost type Gengar which reddit loves is just a worse Alakazam, and not only that but arguably a fucking downgrade from his pre evo design wise. The concept of a ghost type itself is pretty stupid, because ghosts are things that wouldn't make sense to act like the average animal/pokemon, yet the ghost type usually behaves the same way. Ghost sort of tries to be a special snowflake typing with having few weaknesses or advantages but it fails miserably at this because normal and dragon are already types like this, only dragon is even more special.
Ghosts types were literally just situationally created for one small part in the middle of gen 1, the tower, as an afterthought you wouldn't care about after. This continued into gen 2 with the only ghost type being misdreavus. Gamefreak went "oh yeah we created this... I guess we should make another one? Quick, make a single evolution shitmon and slap it at the end of the game."
