>>49247510Most legendaries I like add something worthwhile to worldbuilding and I usually prefer it either be all or nothing, either give me a bunch of strong beasts or make them all near deific beings. That being said...
4 is my least favorite.
-The Lake Guardians don't visibly contribute to the world outside of creating the red chains and joining 'tina in the Distortion world. They also don't look nice at all.
-Dialga and Palkia definitely are what I'd describe as "jumping the shark" but even then they don't do that well. Their powers are not illustrated well and the plot doesn't make too much sense with Dialga ("lol I'm gonna remake the entire universe with only the time god"). Their designs are also extremely stiff.
-Heatran is pretty self explanatory. This could've been a standalone strong and rare Pokemon instead of a legendary static encounter. Its design is decent.
-Regigigas is one of my favorite legendaries for reasons I explained earlier (almost a near deific being plus has ties to the Hoenn Regis). I'll skip over this one in sake of bias.
-I have nothing to complain about for Giratina.
-Cresselia and Darkrai have a cool dynamic but that's about it. Hate Cress' and its duck-like appearance, neutral on 'rai.
-Do I even need to mention what's wrong with Manaphy and Phione?
>Shaymin is just kind of... there in the grand scheme of things. Easily the most minor offender of this gen's legendary problem.-And finally... Arceus. There's something magical about having an all-powerful being that's never been seen or can't be comprehended. GameFreak didn't understand that and we got this thing. I'll admit, he looks sick, but all introducing him did is create a definite ceiling of power that can't be topped, thus the "can they beat Arceus though!?" shit. The lore it provides to the world is pretty flimsy on top of this. I like the idea of Arceus but Arceus itself? Preferred it when it was a rumor.
