>>49252027I'm of the opinion that they actually tried to salvage gen 7 with USUM. At least people can actually lose battles there.
>>49252062Sprites are cool. 3D models might have done some good but GF did multiple sins in the animation department. Most models aren't really that terrible but they don't move well. You can point out exceptions like Cinderace but the vast majority, specially flying types due to gen 6 poor choices, took a huge fall from grace.
>>49252439Z moves were easily the most balanced of the three features, and was decent enough. Megas are downright stupid just think about mega khan, mega gengar, mega salamence, mega metagross and mega fug. But dynamax just breaks singles. I believe it is fine in doubles but dynamax in singles is just absurd. There is a reason only shitty damaging moves raise stats with 100% chance and there is a reason you have to lose a turn to set any weather. It's because boosts and weather are GOOD. But now you get a nuke that somehow gives you another advantage. Three times.
Some people here might not have played early gen 8 OU but the experience was very simple. Start match, find a opportunity to get your dynamax sweeper in, do the deed. It fails against a very well played stall, which mind you is most likely once every blue moon or you get the ditto treatment. It was somewhat funny that hyper offensive was the most played archtype and ditto usage was skyrocketing. All because dynamax allowed those interactions.
