Why do they refuse to just release a bundle of the games virtually?

But Gamefreak would never rerelease older games. If you had the option to buy Pokemon Platinum on your switch with home compatibility for $40, or buy BDSP for $60, which one would you pick? They'd have to be confident that a remake isn't worth the effort compared to just a port, but when millions of consoomerfags and kids will buy whatever shit has Pokemon on the cover, it will always be worth the effort.

Because Pokemon is a franchise of remakes to pray on nostalgia. Re-releasing games or shitting out a master collection/bundle could damage sales of remakes which took more money to produce, especially since they can't charge full retail price for old games. I'll give you Colosseum and GoD though. These are two games that will NEVER see a remake since they were made by Genius Sonority prior to their acquisition by Gamefreak. They should 100% get Switch adaptations. Why this hasn't happened however is anyone's guess. It could be a range of reasons from:
>Too expensive to make it compatible with Switch hardware
>The original development kit of the game is lost to time and it would have to be created basically from scratch (Square-Enix had this issue with Final Fantasy 8 until recently)
>The legal rights to the game may not belong solely to TPCi and may still be in part owned by Genius Sonority, which does exist as a separate entity to this day even though Gamefreak ate most of them.
>They don't think people will buy it without other gen 3 games for it to connect to, which circles back to the remake dilemma
In short, I agree with you that they should do this but they won't. If you wanna play old Pokemon games, stick with emulators or fork over the cash for the overpriced copies.
