This is far, far from it.
The Pokémon game I'm waiting for is one that has an overworld with the same rich quality of LGPE's, the mainline games' battle system instead of the Safari Zone crap and multiple regions.

Nah it was my favorite childhood fantasy of journeying through Kanto riding on top of an Arcanine and how badly I wanted a game where I can do that. LGPE is probably the closest I will ever get to that but they ruined it with that dumb Go style catching mechanic. I am somewhat glad the game exists but to this day I refuse to buy it because the Go elements are too big of a turn off.

A lot of people like grindy games. Only because you don't like it, you don't have to shit talk the game.

I love grinding games as long as I can connect to these. And I think PLA could be one of these games.

For real: Stuff like Stardew Valley, Slime Ranger, most MMORPGs, ... are not much different.

It really doesn't though.
From a technical standpoint it is better, but it lacks any of the style a lot of PS2/Gamecube era games had.
