Its better on mons that don't change stats much upon evolution, but i only really used it in playthroughs as a micromini wall for frailer mons

I thought the Porygon 2 and Chansey were still getting play in Smogon, and Dusclops was still niche in VGC, but I haven't checked on competitive in a while so I might be wrong

The bandage is still there, basically dusknoir is what was "inside" the bandages, hence why the open up and he has that huge mouth.

IIRC the dusclops itself is based on chochin obake which are basically lamps that start housing spirits after a long time.
Dusknoir seems more closely related to duskull than dusclops, which is kinda weird now that I think about it, dusclops is the one that comes out of nowhere.
They should really give dusclops an alternate evolution and also buff dusknoir a bit so you got a duskull themed evolution in dusknoir and a mummy themed evolution in dusclops 2.

I've used an Eviolite Porygon2 and an Eviolite Rhydon. Back in B2W2, had a battle with a guy for what I think was the midnight launch for XY and I beat his Lucario with the Porygon2 because I was tanking Close Combat like a champ and beat him with Tri Attack. Even better story with the Rhydon, it was either in ORAS or Sun/Moon where my Rhydon out-Earthquaked a Garchomp and my opponent DC'd after Garchomp went down. It was way too funny and I didn't think that was even possible

How is them not wasting space on shit that's not even in the game a point of criticism? You'd have to hack to use the stuff anyways, so just add it in yourself. And GF's asset library is to blame for the sliding animations, the models were taken from there and they're not exactly super flexible so there's not a lot you can do to pose or articulate them.

Which in turn wears down the devs and rots the directors brains from having to deal with it, and the damage is probably irreversible at this point, they've been basically forced to not give a shit because they HAVE to rush it, and they've done it for so long that giving a shit is now a distant past that they cannot remember.

The issue with these things is that it takes a long time for the reality to settle in with consumes because gamers are the most idiotic consuming group alive.

But also, they know people will buy these titles anyway because the dopamine hit is THAT easy to achieve in this series. It's just greed at this point because they cannot be struggling financially in any way. There are so many avenues of revenue that I'm sure they could actually afford to put more time and effort into the video games... but they know that they don't need to. All ya gotta do is have a game with "main story" + "new/quirky way to find/catch Pokémon" + "Battle Tower" and you've got a modern Switch-era Pokémon title. Exactly.
The pokemon company demands yearly games because people will buy yearly games.
The brand has become this cult like scenario where people will buy it and defend it even if it's literal shit.
And it will take a long time of debacle and even worse titles for things to start changing.

Blizzard was a perfect example of this, and now they're so far gone that there might be no salvation unless they get a miracle.

Generally it gets the best impact on a pokemon that got a new evolution later, since its stats were originally balanced around it being the final form of its line.
The fact that enabling eviolite usage makes pokemon more powerful than any new evolution could ever be is part of why they stopped doing new evolutions.
eviolite is just so powerful all future game design has to revolve around the fact that it exists.
