>>49259007Trainer battles can be fun but they only really get so around the end of the game when trainers use more than one pokemon. In general only gyms, evil team admins, and champions are memorable. Sometimes you will have interesting generic NPCs like the double battle with Raichu and Gyarados on the fog route in Sinnoh, Veteran Shaun, and even SwSh surprised me with this double battle with two reporters on Route 10 and one of them used Noivern but these are very small in number. When someone says Legends is bad because it doesn't have many trainer battles I think they're being idiotic because 99% of NPC fights in Pokemon is forgettable filler. That's just a fact.
Even romhacks struggle with this. Bosses are hard as fuck but regular trainers are still nothing.
