I thought it was meant that people who had ugly personalities were bad? My head cannon for him was that since his team has basically made up entirely of terrible people was that it was his intent the whole time to massacre them rather than the populace and create a better world.

I kinda loved the commentary at work here. He's this ultra-wealthy tech genius who wants to "make the world beautiful" with all his wealth and riches. But then you find out he's been spying on the population (using the Holo Caster), and actually wants to take the preserve for himself. The public is so blindly in love with his innovations that he was never suspected of doing anything wrong.

This would've been based. Rope in the most greedy and corrupt of society with the high dollar entry fee, convince them that they are finally going to get rid of all the poors so they may hoard all resources, and then just flat out reverse cleanse them for their hubris so that the downtrodden may get a fresh start.

Unfortunately, X/Y could've never pulled that off.

From the way his journals and whatnot portray it, his plan was basically the opposite: He felt that poor people constantly take without contributing back and wanted to genocide them all as a result.
The fact that his team is filled with terrible people is irony in the sense that Lysandre failed to realize that the people that would join his team of 'worthy ones' were in fact the exact same type of people he hates.

Cyrus doesn't need justification. He's bad in DP but in Platinum he's fine.
Lysandre is just one of the best villains next to Ghetsis, only because the game properly builds up his motivations and proves him right-- the problem he points out doesn't go away just because you defeated him, and that's the entire center or the post-game, even. It was pretty good story telling.
The only "bad" villains in the series are OG Gen 3 Maxie/Archie, USUM Lusamine, and Rose.

I found it interesting that flavia was a team flare member. To bad the game does nothing with it.
I really hope the x and y remakes arent cheap shit like the DP remakes because that game needs to be a full pokemon Z
