GameStop employee here, We don't get PLA copies until 4 days before release (It's not christmas season, We don't expect many sells, so we don't got alot of orders letalone preorders.)

i remember when i was a kid and i used to get anxiety leading up to release because people online would say gamestop might not have the games on their launch day

haven't bought a game from gamestop since 2012 lel. surprised they're still not dead yet, wonder if the meme bull run last year prolonged the inevitable

Logistically a nightmare and nearly impossible to do, stores get the game 1-2 weeks earlier to guarantee a proper release. No other way around it, game will unavoidably leak between now and the 25th at the latest. It's just a question of which spic will break street date this time.
