>>49285190i mean, I think he's right. I'm sure some Kalosfag has that Lucario comparison image between sprite animation and 3D model animations but I think he's right anyway. The thing we see the most in 3D pokemon is that blank, dead stare idle pose that they snap out of to take a hit or do a move, it just isn't lifelike enough to eclipse the sprites in terms of personality. I think the only times they do look better is the fainting animations, some look bland but others are genuinely good-looking.
Legends has updated models tho, so we'll see if they pushed above spritework. Models should by all means be able to capture more personality, they just haven't made them good enough to do that.
