Able to roam around the overworld with friends, engaging in land/sea/air races on your pokemon as some little minigames, setting up camps anywhere in world that isn't populated, being able to group up on wild pokemon (which become stronger the more players are working together). Can also challenge other random players in the same area with the same number of macguffins to a battle by interacting with some kind of notice board thing

Honestly, I think the base game might be fun.
In future iterations, I would include more features:
>farming
where you could farm berries and apricorns for different uses, perhaps with mixing too (for example, mix apricorns and berries and get special apricorns for different use pokéballs)
>points of interest
Perhaps Legends already have these, but anyway, I would try to fill the world with interesting places and vistas, special Pokémon, and the likes
>online features
Alpha boss battles with friends, which might join you on the open world (max 4 ppl, not mmo)

Not something thats been confirmed but doubt it's in the game:
The ability to expand the village, have new houses and grow to the point where you have plenty of pokemon together with humans.

Another thing is the PC box/field:
Would have it be it's own HUGEEEE area so you could actually find all of your pokemon or most of them.

Awesome idea. Always love shit like this, could be tied to side quests.

Like the idea but might be very computationally expensive.

Not that much. I mean, yeah, you can make the graphics "better" for those who care a ton about it. I would change the Noble Pokémon fights to be more interesting than just evading attacks and throwing shit at it for 10 minutes, make it a different type of challenge like 1 would be an obstacle course, one would be a battle but with specific rules, etc... Adding multiplayer and online battles would always be nice for sure. That's for the realm of "it's possible to happen". The core gameplay otherwise is fine, it's meant to be for a casual audience and to make you grind some objectives through a long period of time as you go through the lands of this game multiple times for months.
For the impossible things, I would also add the same system as Dmax Adventures from SwSh for non-story Legendaries and rare mons, having to fight strong versions of mons in succession with random teams and items pushing you to be strategic, but with better balance and AI. Also, create random trainers who can pop sometimes on the map and have mons scaled to your mons levels.

That's not a Pokémon game anymore nor a PLA type of game. I am not saying that the idea is bad, it could be cool as a concept but that's for an entirely new type of spin-off, a new type of Pokémon Rangers maybe.

Turn them into puzzles with investigation and actual problem solving. Give the pokemon some overworld skills like digging tunnels.

Pokemon Legends War of the Dragons

Unova during the War between brothers over Justice and Ideals, you start off neutral but as the game progresses and you do quests for NPCs you start edging towards one side or the other.

Ends with you recombining Reshiram and Zekrom back into the original dragon to end the war

I would’ve made it in jhoto, far more interesting region than Shinnoh.

I would’ve also used a warmer color palette and made it more vibrant.

I would’ve also added more settlements, of course in jhoto it would have the original burnt tower before being burnt and some other memorable places from the other games.
