Does Ash ever do anything like this anymore? Throwing himself in between his pokemon and real danger, or huddling together in the cold after fighting them all to stay in their pokeballs? He seems like a much better battler now but like way more hollow and less fun of a character. He just kind of seems like every other hyper active toy-selling anime protagonist now. And Pikachu isn't much better.
