Slower? Sure, but now it better fills out the trio. Feraligatr is your Phys, Meganium is Balance, Typhlosion is Spec. It also differentiates itself by playing a more defensive role than Charizard. Don't complain about Typhlosion being a Charizard and then respond by making A Better Charizard.
Alternatively, we can just roll with Typhlosion's larger physical movepool and go with
