You have it backwards. Charizard and Pikachu didn't ruin Pokemon. Them being shilled isn't the cause of Pokemon's decline, its a symptom. Game Freak stopped trying so they only give attention to the Pokemon TPC tells them to shill.

No. It's the demonic modern world that is ruining the franchise.
The art direction of the games, tv series, and cards have all gone to shit because they want to pander to the soulless NPCs.
The watercolour art of the originals has too much soul to exist in the current industry.

There are about 10 good cards per set on average, and they're basically all by artists that have been doing art for the cards since the WOTC era.

The average modern card, and basically all rares look like generic cgi shit.
