Ratatta was only useful early on with STAB Hyper Fang early on, but quickly gets outclassed
Sentret is trash all around
zigzagoon is trash and only useful as a slave. The only exception was the one you get form Pokemon Box which comes with Belly Drum and Extremespeed
Patrat is trash all around
Bunnelby is only good with its hidden ability, which you can only get during the postgame
Yungoos is trash, but at least not as trash as Sentret/Patrat
and Skovet... well, Greedent is popular in Japan at least.
So since Bidoof had simple (and in some situations, unaware), it remained useful for the entire game if you really wanted to use it. And if you didn't just slap some HMs on it.
