I dislike BW as much as the next reasonable person but the fact is that the hype for that game caused this board to be created. Consider that the only other thing to get this treatment is MLP.

It’s one of the lowest if not the lowest selling mainline games for a reason, most people outside of veepee and diehard fanatics hate unova because it doesn’t feel like a Pokémon game with it’s ugly design and boring linear region. It feels like a fake pokemon game that used digimon as its monster and tries to replicate kanto because it has no originality.

XY hype was fucking unreal dude, eeven if long term it didn't live up to it. It was a pretty good leak season as well. Who can forget the retard who thought Hawlucha and Greninja weren't real?
I personally prefer BW's hype season but it might be a combination of it being the last "classic" hype season (before it was all internet and worldwide release shit) and also that /vp/ was new at the time. Also, I know it's B2W2, but Cactowl was fucking great.

XY leak season isn't the oldest but I don't think calling it the most hype one is a stretch. It was the last leak season before the series hit the shitter for good + the switch to 3D had people super excited.
