I hate that he's still 10 years old. would it really have tanked the show's ratings to get some other main protag replacement? pretty sure only the people who grew up watching the show give a shit about ash, whereas kids newer to pokemon (the actual intended audience) would be fine with a new character.

Literally a champion now and in the massive global league he's ranked #36 so far and already has beat another champion along with a bunch of gym leaders. Pretty sure he beat an elite 4 member or two in that too
