Why does /vp/ hates Electivire? It's one of the best designs in the franchise and a big improvement over Electabuzz

It's garbage in every sense of the word, like most of the gen 4 evolutions.
A bastardization of actually competent monster design into an abomination whose design sensibilies do not belong in the same game as its pre-evo.

I just finished W2 with an Electivire. It’s very good. Electabuzz is solid in the early-to-midgame and is a fantastic team player with fast-setting Thunder Waves. Electivire then becomes a major powerhouse with Thunderbolt/Punch, Ice Punch from the move tutors, and Earthquake, with an added Electric immunity to support any Flying- or Water-Types on the team.
I’m very pleased with its performance.

Its just LE BIGGER Electabuzz. Just like every gen 4 cross evo, it's just overdesigned Kanto pandering. The only good were Tangrowth, Ambipom and Porygon Z.

They oppose to Kanto because of that.

(Also Ambipom would be Gen 2, not 1. Aipom isn't Kanto.)
